2018 Domaine Serene, Two Barns Vineyard Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills, Oregon
Two Barns Vineyard is situated on the west side of the Dundee Hills of Oregon about a mile from the winery as the crow flies. This low elevation vineyard is planted in transitioned sedimentary soils of the Willakenzie series with seams of Jory soil interspersed, making Two Barns unique to the Dundee Hills AVA, typically known exclusively for its red Jory soils. This combination of soil and elevation produces dark fruited, brooding wines of intensity and power.
The smooth and structured 2018 Two Barns Vineyard Pinot Noir expresses a knockout nose of cinnamon, cloves, and Juniper berry, with hints of pumice and cool mint. Brooding with notes of dark black cherry and iron, this wonderfully complex wine is contoured by well-integrated tannins and offers a smooth and structured finish.
