Red cherry, raspberry, and lavender fill the nose of this ripe, fruit-driven Pinot Noir. Notes of blackberry and boysenberry intermixed with brown sugar meet on the palate, leading to a lingering finish with well-placed tannins developed from the old vines of the original planting of the Monopole Clos du Château.

Clos du Château was our own Monopole parcel, nestled in the heart of Santenay just above the park of the Château de la Crée. At 740-790 feet in elevation, Clos du Château is of south exposure and managed to ensure lower yields for concentration and structure. The 2016 vintage is the last wine produced from the original 60-year-old plantings of this vineyard, as the 3.5-acre plot was re-planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 2017.
