Ornate ripe raspberry, dark cherry, and forest floor aromas fill the glass. The palate is silky and laced with juicy red fruits and an exquisite mid-palate minerality. The finish exudes elegance and a remarkable length. At release, this is an approachable, food-friendly bottling of Premier Cru Pinot Noir from one of the most highly regarded vineyards in Santenay. If given the proper time in the cellar, it will continue to enhance and evolve for decades.

The southernmost village within the Côte d’Or, Santenay is located just south of Chassagne-Montrachet. Santenay’s etymology probably derives from the Latin word “Sanctus,” implying a sacred place even before the Christian era. Renowned for its graceful Pinot Noirs, the Gravières vineyard lies close to the border of Chassagne Montrachet, and may be the most famous parcel in Santenay.
