The southernmost village within the Côte d’Or, Santenay is located just south of Chassagne-Montrachet. Santenay’s etymology derives from the Latin word “Sanctus,” implying a place considered sacred even before the common era. Although recognized for its graceful Pinot Noirs, Santenay also produces intense, mineral-rich Chardonnays of great depth and structure. The Gravières vineyard lies close to the border of Chassagne-Montrachet, and is the most prestigious parcel in Santenay. Our Gravières Premier Cru Chardonnay comes from mature vines with southeastern aspect and row orientation.

The bouquet unfolds in graceful layers, weaving together notes of Key lime curd, lemon meringue, and delicate citrus blossom. The palate is both precise and sumptuous, revealing waves of ripe melon and luminous citrus framed by vibrant freshness. A silken, enveloping texture glides effortlessly across the palate before giving way to a poised, crystalline finish. Subtle mineral tones linger, lending refinement, lift, and a distinctive sense of place.
