The Gravières vineyard lies close to the border of Chassagne-Montrachet and is one of the most prestigious Premier Cru parcels in Santenay, the southernmost village within the Côte d’Or. With southerly exposure and elevation ranging from 690-780 feet, the vineyard grows Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Gravières refers to the vineyard’s gravelly soils, which are based on the classic Burgundian limestone-clay marl.

Our 2020 Château de la Crée, Santenay Premier Cru Gravières Chardonnay is a focused and direct wine on the palate. It starts with green citrus and becomes more yellow citrus, stony minerality, and lemongrass. The lingering finish has Meyer lemon characteristics. This wine has a clean finish, a weighty mouthfeel, and is balanced by its acidity.
