2020 is the first vintage of Maison Evenstad Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay. Some would describe it as "a thinker", this wine is taut and precise on the palate with good aging potential. It has a nose of oak, toasted marshmallow, caramelized pear, almond marzipan, and nori. The palate is umami and sweet with green tea, tart pear, and mineral. The finish is heavier and richer than the nose with more nuance. It pairs well with hamachi, popped rice, or caviar.
