2022 Château de la Crée Maranges Le Goty

Situated along the border of the Côte-d’Or and Saône-et-Loire, the “Le Goty” Climat is rooted in deep brown soils composed of limestone marl. Planted between 1975 and 1985, this southeast-facing parcel benefits from abundant sunlight throughout the growing season. Its rich, structured terroir gives rise to a wine that pairs supple texture with remarkable intensity, a distinctive expression of red Maranges.

Winemaker Tasting Notes

The wine opens with an expressive bouquet of red and black fruit. On the palate, notes of black pepper add a savory, spicy dimension, supported by a firm tannic structure. Concentrated and intense, the wine offers both depth and definition.

Vintage Notes

The 2022 growing season delivered an outstanding vintage, with yields returning to healthy levels. A mild, dry winter encouraged an early start to the growing cycle, while the vines were spared from April frost. Warm spring conditions accelerated growth, leading to early flowering and excellent fruit set.

Following an exceptionally dry winter and spring, rainfall arrived at an ideal moment in late June. The summer was hot, with periods of intense heat, supporting steady ripening despite some signs of water stress. Crucial rainfall in mid-August was followed by consistent sunshine through harvest. Picking began on August 25 in the Côte de Beaune and September 2 in the Côte de Nuits.
