At the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards, Domaine Serene, Château de la Crée and Domaine Evenstad each received a 97-point Platinum medal—an extraordinary recognition spanning two countries, three estates and both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Domaine Serene Named Among the World’s Best Pinot Noir Producers
The 2022 Domaine Serene ‘Yamhill Cuvée’ Pinot Noir was subsequently featured by Forbes in its roundup of the world’s best Pinot Noir wines from the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards.
Selected from estate vineyards throughout Oregon’s Yamhill County, the wine received 97 points and a Platinum medal. Decanter’s judges described it as “a masterstroke of Pinot Noir making,” recognizing its vibrant red fruit, layered spice and generous character.
Its inclusion among a select group of internationally acclaimed Pinot Noir wines reinforces the Willamette Valley’s place alongside the world’s most respected wine regions—and continues Domaine Serene’s longstanding commitment to producing world-class Oregon Pinot Noir.
A Remarkable Achievement Across Oregon and Burgundy
Domaine Serene’s Platinum recognition was joined by two additional 97-point wines from the family’s estates in Burgundy.
The 2022 Château de la Crée ‘Les Gravières’ Santenay Premier Cru Chardonnay earned Platinum for its expression of a distinctive Côte de Beaune vineyard. The wine was recognized for its ripe stone fruit, graceful floral character, supple texture and long, savory finish.
From the Côte de Nuits, the 2022 Domaine Evenstad ‘Les Feusselottes’ Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru Pinot Noir also received 97 points and Platinum. The recognition marks an exceptional achievement for Domaine Evenstad and its inaugural estate vintage, highlighting the elegance, aromatic detail and refined character associated with Chambolle-Musigny.
Decanter specifically noted the three connected estates in its coverage of the 2025 Platinum winners—an uncommon distinction that places Domaine Serene’s Oregon Pinot Noir alongside Premier Cru wines from two of Burgundy’s most revered villages.
What Is a Decanter Platinum Medal?
The Decanter World Wine Awards is recognized as one of the world’s largest and most rigorous wine competitions.
Wines are evaluated through blind tastings by an international panel of leading wine experts. To earn Platinum, a wine must first receive a Gold medal and then successfully advance through an additional round of evaluation by senior judges, regional chairs and competition co-chairs.
Of all the wines evaluated at the 2025 competition, only 137—approximately 0.8%—received a Platinum medal. Three of the four Platinum medals awarded to wines from the United States and its affiliated estates were earned by Domaine Serene, Château de la Crée and Domaine Evenstad.
