The Story

About Winery Hill Vineyard

Located atop the renowned Dundee Hills of Oregon, our Winery Hill Vineyard greets our guests as they arrive at The Clubhouse at Domaine Serene.

The Winery Hill Vineyard is a dry-farmed, 20-acre site, ranging from 775 to 930 feet in elevation – our highest-elevation Pinot Noir vineyard. Planted in 2000 while our winery was under construction, this south-and-west-facing vineyard is planted exclusively with Dijon clones in Jory soil. The grapes slowly ripen in the cool air above Dundee, allowing for full flavor development and highly complex fruit, thus yielding wines with excellent aging potential, balanced acidity, elegant tannins, and a lingering finish.

Winemaker Tasting Notes

The 2023 Winery Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir presents a distinct aromatic bouquet of Mandarin orange, cassis, and clove. The intriguing interplay of spice and fresh fruit flavors create a dynamic, layered palate, showcasing a more savory character that leads to a rich textural experience. This wine is deep and savory on the palate with firm, well-integrated tannins. This wine pairs classically well with duck à l’orange.  With over a decade of aging potential, it will evolve gracefully, offering a rewarding, festive experience that lingers on the palate now and for years to come.
